Life... And Let's Get Back to Blogging

It's been about four years since I've updated this blog. Why? Life.

So I'm interested to see how things are going to go this year.  Urban Meyer is in his second year at The Ohio State. I say it that way because my husband is a Buckeye. Yes, this Florida Gator married a Buckeye. Hey, stranger things have happened.

Not sure how Florida is going to do this year. I guess we will wait and see.

It's about that time again.

It's almost time again for football season. And I am crazy excited to see what's in store this season. Florida has most of their starters returning. The defensive and offensive leaders are returning: Spikes and Tebow.

On another note, all three of the Heisman finalists from last year are returning this year. Could we see them at the Heisman presentation again this year? If so, two will be former Heisman winners, and one of those previous winners will be able to say he was a finalist three times.

Questions looked to be answered this season:
Does Florida have what it takes to win another championship this year?
Will Tebow wow the people enough to win the Heisman again?
Who will step into Percy's gap?

Another Update

It looks as if the SEC East is sucking this season. Okay, so they don't exactly suck, but they aren't exactly the best either. Florida is 21-7 for the season so far, and they still have to play Tennessee, Mississippi ST, and Kentucky. I hope they beat Kentucky this time. Otherwise I'll hear about it from the UK fans I know, and they love rubbing that stuff in . . . but hey, only fair because I get them when we win. Oh well. I guess we all shall see what the last few games of this season hold for us.

Basketball Update

So Florida has done pretty well in basketball. They have won the last ten games, and are finally ranked again, number 24. Woo!

Honestly, that's all I know.

National CHAMPS!!

The National Championship = Florida Gators + Oklahoma Sooners.
This is the first meeting ever between these teams.
Two teams that are both 12-1 for the season—Florida lost to Ole Miss, Oklahoma lost to Texas.
They each have a Heisman winner on their teams—Tebow 2007 and Bradford 2008 (even though Tebow had the most first place votes).
They’ve both got big hitters—Spikes and McCoy. But Florida’s defense is ranked much higher.
They have two great coaches—Meyer and Stoops, with each one having one national championship under their belt.
They each add speed and pressure.
Their offenses are better than most at what they do.

I’ve been sitting in front of the television since two hours before the game even started. I saw the Tebow-Meyer piece. I’ve listened to the announcers talk about both teams with the crowd behind them chanting “TEBOW!” I’ve listened to Holtz and May take their pick, and agree on who is going to win—Florida with a close win. And even President-Elect Obama says Florida will win it. This game is expected to be the highest scoring championship game ever.

Coach Meyer—“Play hard, man. Have fun and play hard.”

So the game was pretty low in score. The end was 24 to 14, Gators winning.
I loved watching it, but there were times when I wanted to reach through the TV and smack some players for not doing what they should. But I definitely got excited when they did get things done.
